Island Soul Choir is currently based in Parksville, BC. It has more than 100 singers from Victoria to Campbell River, Port Alberni to Gabriola Island and even the Lower Mainland. The singers' infectious enthusiasm bring audiences to their feet, singing along with inspiring and uplifting music.

So what does a soul choir sing? According to director Brian Tate, “a soul choir is a completely different genre. It performs gospel, spirituals, world music, blues, pop, soul, R&B and other similar styles.” This music is accessible to people of all skill levels. There are no auditions - everyone is welcome.

 

 

Concerts are produced in the spring and fall each year. The choir wrapped up its Spring Season with 2 highly successful concerts on June 5 and 6, at Knox United Church. We take great pleasure in showcasing upcoming local talent as our concert openers. At our latest concerts, singer/songwriter Cyndi Doell delighted the audience with her moving and funny original songs, and the choir and band raised the roof with their "Soul Train" concert program, accompanied by a fine group of musicians.
